The Title Clerk processes all paperwork related to license and registration of a sold vehicle.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Report and follow up on title issue requests for Toyota, General Motors and various banks.
· Make follow-up calls to customers regarding their trade titles or other issues.
· Go to the Department of Motor Vehicles once a week to make drop offs and/or register
vehicles.
· Follow up with customers to obtain necessary documents on trade vehicles or purchased vehicles as needed.
· Submit list of problem title issues to management weekly.
· Process paper work for courtesy deliveries.
· Process all new and used vehicles for registration in the state in which they will be titled.
· Audits title paperwork.
· Contacts banks to obtain lien releases and notifies car deal clerks of short or missing payoffs if discovered.
· Assist banks and customers to ensure correct titling of vehicles, liens, missing odometer statements.
· Open and accurately record incoming titles daily according to established procedures.
· Answer customer inquiries in a timely manner.
· Research and understand the varying title requirements for both Montana and non-Montana registration processes.
· Update files accurately and efficiently to ensure quick review of title status.
Establish and maintain excellent relationships with local DVMs to ensure speedy transactions.
